I love to snack and I love anything that has a sesame flavor. These were inspired by delicious nuts that I picked up at the farmers market.
Baklava (from the Farsi for “many leaves”), a pastry perfected by royal bakers in the sultan’s palace in Istanbul, consists of layers of phyllo filled with nuts and spices and drenched in a syrup.
Fair warning: set out a tray of these jewel-like apricot, goat cheese, and almond morsels at your next party, and they’ll likely be gobbled up in a matter of minutes.
These almonds are both sweet and spicy and really easy to make.
